Tomato Chutney

Tomato chutney is a South Indian recipe. Chutney recipe to accompany south Indian breakfasts like idli, dosa etc.I like this chutney a lot. Tomatoes contain a chemical called lycopene, which is thought to play a role in preventing cancer. It’s easier for the body to use lycopene that comes from tomato products, such as tomato paste or tomato juice, than from fresh tomatoes. Friends if you don’t like to eat raw tomatoes, prepare this tomato chutney and relish it with boiled rice, chapati, idli, etc.

  1. Heat the pan and add 15 spoons of oil.
  2. Once oil is heated add the tomato grinded pasted to it.
  3. Then add the fried methi seeds powder and red chilli powder to this tomato paste.
  4. Fry this tomato chutney mixture untill the paste is boiled and becomes halwa consistency.
  5. Frying takes around 15 to 20 minutes time.
  6. Once the tomato chutney is fully fried and the oil oozes out of the chutney, switch off the stove .
  7. Now your tasty mouth watering tomato chutney is ready to serve which is shown in photo.
