Pot Biryani, Domlur

Pot Biryani

Working in a MNC and finding time for a lunch out with a friend can sometimes be a challenge. Restaurant owners are pretty mindful of the fact and try to find a spot close to offices to open a hot new joint for food! One such place happens to be POT Biryani near Embassy Golf Links, Near Domlur.

After passing by this restaurant almost every day for about 3 months, I decided to visit this place. And as most of the cases, I had my trusty partner Chandan Kempegowda to join me for lunch. As we entered the restaurant, we saw more staff than customers. I wondered if those many waiters were needed and boy was I in for a surprise? Within 5 minutes of us sitting down to order, the restaurant was crowded. Looking through the restaurant’s menu, varieties of briyanis available for us to order. Cozy sitting arrangements

We had our mind set to order a biryani that comes in a POT. Both of us, obviously excited about piping hot biryani coming to us in an earthen POT. We ordered for a combo meal which was one full biryani, chicken kebab and one cool drink. After a few minutes of waiting we got our food on the table. It came in a plastic plate which we usually eat out of in food courts and office cafeterias. Thoroughly disappointed, we start having the biryani to douse our hunger.

Biryani was just ok and didn’t strike as worth mentioning ever. Kebabs were good and is something I would risk trying again in future. They could seriously try to improve the biryani taste and also invest in a few POTS for all types of biryani there (POT being the keyword and all). All in all, this is a place for a quick bite and nothing more than that. You’ll get value for money, nothing more and hopefully nothing less.
